A perfect song

lyrics of the song

I met you once, I loved you twice
Thats the way this tale begins
I played my hand, I rolled the dice
Now im paying for my sins
I got some bad addiction baby its you yeah yeah thats right
And i feel you taking over me
Could luck be a lady in here tonight

My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
My odds are stacked
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
(Baby I'd lose it all)

Baby
oh Could you be the queen of hearts
or the devil in disguise
With every move
I'm blinded by those diamonds in her eyes
I got some bad addiction baby its you yeah yeah thats right
And I feel you taking over me
Could luck be a lady in here tonight

My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
(Baby I'd lose it all)

I'm raptured in your sweet lovin
but it feels just like a curse
you're beneath my skin I start tremblin
with this love so dangerous
place your bets I want you place your bets
why dont you just place your bets on me

My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
(Baby I'd lose it all)

My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
(Baby I'd lose it all)

My odds are stacked
I've never been a gambling man
I've never had the winning hand
but for you I'd lose it all
(Baby I'd lose it all)
but for you I'd lose it all

Gambling -- And Losing

Many people believe that "money makes the world goaround." Others believe that "money buys happiness."

do not agree with either idea.

But I do admit that money can make people dostrange thingsLet me tell you about a person I onceknew who liked to play card games for money -- heliked to gamble...

A man shuffles cards before he deals a poker gameman shuffles cards before he deals a poker game
My friend Bob had a problem because he liked togamble "at all costs" -- he would play at any time and at any price. To take part in a card game such aspokermy friend would have to "ante up" -- he wouldhave to pay a small amount of money at the beginningof the game.

Bob always played with "coldhard cash" -- only coinsand dollar billsSometimes my friend would "clean up" -- he would win a lot of money on one card game. Heliked to tell me that one day he would "break the bank."What a feeling it must be to win all of the money at agambling table!

Other times my friend would simply "break even" -- heneither won nor lost money. But sometimes Bob would"lose his shirt" -- he would lose all the money he had. He "took a beating" at the gambling tableWhen thishappenedmy friend would have to "go in the hole" -- he would go into debt and owe people money.

RecentlyBob turned to crime after losing all hismoney. In his job, he "kept the books" for a smallbusiness -- he supervised the records of money earned and spent by thecompanyAlthough my friend was usually honest, he decided to "cook thebooks" -- he illegally changed the financial records of the company. Thispermitted him to "make a fast buck" -- my friend made some quickeasymoney dishonestly.

never thought Bob would have "sticky fingers" -- he did not seem like athief who would steal money. But, some people will do anything for love ofmoney.

Bob used the money he stole from his company togamble again. This time, he "cashed in" -- he made alot of moneyQuickly he was "back on his feet" -- he had returned to good financial healthHis company, howeverended up "in the red" -- it lost more moneythan it earned. The company was no longer profitable.

It did not take long before my friend’s dishonesty wasdiscovered. The company investigated and chargedhim with stealingBob tried to "pass the buck" -- he tried to blame someoneelse for the deficitHis lie did not workhowever. He ended up in jail.

Today, I would "bet my bottom dollar" that my friendwill never gamble again -- I would bet all I have that helearned his lesson about gambling.
